Do I need experience or a license to drive the narrowboat?

No prior experience is necessary to hire one of our narrowboats. Before you set off on the Grand Union Canal, our team will provide a comprehensive briefing and training session on safe boat handling, navigation, and lock management.

Is there parking available when we arrive?

Yes, but we ask that you bring no more than two vehicles per booking. If your group needs parking for additional cars, please contact us prior to your travel date so we can make arrangements.

What time can we pick up and return the boat?

We offer both day (7.5 hours) and evening (4 hours, or until sunset) narrowboat hire. Because we coordinate multiple departures from Cow Roast Marina, specific collection and drop-off times vary depending on the vessel. You can find the expected schedule for each boat in its description. We will always confirm your exact timings upon booking and do our absolute best to accommodate your schedule!

How many passengers are allowed on board?

We have four narrowboats available, and each one can comfortably accommodate up to 10 people. This makes them perfect for a quick escape or a fun day out with friends and family.

Can we bring our pets along for the day?

Accepted Answer

Absolutely, we are pet-friendly and welcome your furry friends aboard. We simply ask that they are well-behaved and that you bring along any necessary supplies, such as leashes and water bowls.

Can we host a party, stag do, or hen do on the boat?

Accepted Answer

You are welcome to come with a group of friends for a good time, but we ask that you keep it classy and behave respectfully. We strictly do not allow "stag" or "hen do" parties without a skipper (you can select this when booking). Passengers who arrive drunk or rowdy will be denied boarding without a refund. If you are planning a party day such as this, please contact us after making your booking so we are aware. You may also contact us before making the booking if you prefer and we will answer any questions/assist you with making sure the booking is right for everybody.You may bring a moderate amount of alcohol on board, but please remember that these are 12-ton steel boats that require safe and responsible handling.
